CYCLING

The Scottish Borders has cycling for all skill levels and purposes – from long distance routes requiring a day or two to shorter routes requiring a few hours or as a day out. We are also home to some world-class mountain biking.

From the campsite, there is a pleasant 10 mile warm up route following the Rule Water to Bonchester Bridge before returning to campsite on the other side of the Valley. For mountain bikers, unmade routes can take you to the summit of Ruberslaw or across the hill and through the woods.

Networks of way-marked routes are only a mile or two away from the campsite along minor roads. For example at Jedburgh there are family routes such as the Lanton Loop and the Dere Street Dash, while for Mountain bikers there is at Jedburgh there is The Jeddart Justice Trail - a 40km mountain bikers dream. Details of touring routes close to the campsite can be found at cyclescottishborders.com.
